Julie Lause
Julie Lause is the co-founder and Chief of Schools at Crescent City Schools, an open enrollment public charter school organization in New Orleans. She has been teaching and leading in New Orleans public, private, and charter schools for 30 years where her work has focused on school turnaround, district reform, and creating school settings where all students grow and thrive. Julie also makes content online at The Bossy House where she helps families set up “school principal systems” at home. Her work has been published in English Journal, Teaching Tolerance, Independent School, and The Lens. She is a former board member of the Education Research Alliance and adjunct professor at the Relay Graduate School of Education. Julie appeared on Ten Years After Katrina with Roland Martin, was a part of John Merrow’s 2015 documentary Rebirth: New Orleans, and is featured in an upcoming Netflix documentary commemorating the 20th anniversary of Katrina.
