Wendy Turner

Wendy became a teacher at 40 after 17 years in the business world and lots of school at night. She has been teaching 2nd grade for 10 years in Wilmington, Delaware. A warrior of social emotional learning, Wendy helps her students embrace and embody empathy, resilience, citizenship, and growth mindset through dynamic classroom experiences, a global learning lens, and a trauma invested learning experience. Wendy was named the 2017 Delaware Teacher of the Year, a Compassion Champion and a Global Learning Fellow with the NEA Foundation. She is a blogger, trainer, presenter, and creative problem solver. Also a mom and wife, she wishes she could run faster, braid her daughter's hair, and cook well. Movies, travel, reading, exercise, and lifelong learning keep her going.
