Does Twitter kind of freak you out?
I once felt the same way. I even had my own website, and still, Twitter confused the heck out of me. But I kept hearing the same thing from people, that Twitter was one of the best sources of professional development out there. I really needed to just get an account and try it.
Once I took the leap, it was slow going at first, but now I use Twitter every single day.
I use it to share resources with other educators, to reach out directly to experts in our field, and to have conversations with people all over the world. I use it to follow current events, to virtually “attend” conferences I can’t go to, and to discover new ideas I never would have been exposed to in any other way.
Plus, I just really like the feeling of being on top of things. I like feeling that I kind of “get it.” That I’m not falling behind. I like understanding how hashtags work and knowing what to do when someone says, “Follow me on Twitter.”
I want these things for you, too.
I’m sure I’m not the first person to tell you that you really need to get on Twitter. You’ve probably been meaning to for a while now, but you just haven’t gotten around to it.
