In light of recent executive orders made by the current U.S. administration that are dismantling all forms of educational practices and materials that may be deemed as “woke” or given a “DEI” label, many educators are unsure about how to proceed with liberatory teaching practices.
This book was recommended to me, and I think it might be a good place to start looking for answers. I just ordered it and will start reading as soon as I get it. My plan is to post my own reflections and discussion questions on this page as they occur to me and I will leave the comment section open for anyone who wants to join me. Comments will be moderated and anything that does not contribute to a productive discussion will be deleted.
I encourage you to purchase the book through Harvard University Press or Bookshop.org. (I am in the early stages of ending my ties with Amazon, so moving forward I will not be using Amazon affiliate links.)

My Chapter Reflections
As I progress through the book, I’ll add thoughts and reflections for each chapter. These are just my own personal reactions, thoughts, and questions that come up as I read. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below this section.
